Hi,

My name is Jen and I am mumma to two little boys aged 19 mths and 7 weeks. Both emergency C sections, one done in ignorance on my part the other done in complete knowledge and understanding after a failed VBAC yet it was the second that brought a degree of healing to the first. But still disappointing as it was the one thing I thought I would be able to avoid.

But Im here and loving my sons while journeying towards healing on the inside and doing my best to offer a bit of education ...

I've known about this forum for a while but haven't joined because I have not had birth trauma, but then a friend pointed out how important it is for me as a doula (currently studying) to have a good understanding of birth trauma and how to support a woman on her healing journey. So here I am.

I must admit I have lots to learn. I still tend to find myself thinking that a good birth experience can make up for a bad one, when of course a good birth (while it's awesome!) does ...

Just a quick post to introduce myself. I've had this forum bookmarked for a while, but have not felt ready to talk about my experiences until now.

I have known for a while that after a traumatic birthing experience, I have had all of the criteria for PTSD, but have been suffering from severe anxiety about even thinking about seeing a HP to help me move forward. I have a very supportive DP, who I have discussed this with very briefly, but unfortunately, he just doesn't ...

I'm a mum who suffered pre-eclampsia and had her choice of birth ripped out of her hands with DD. Also DD landed up in neo-natal for 10 days due to low blood sugar levels.

I'm a mum who tried a VBAC and had a very supportive doula and DH but landed up having a c-section after 30 hours of labour and reaching 4cms but which I felt was an empowered birth. I was diagnosed that my body couldn't break down sugars to well but I didn't have gestational diabetes.

I recently gave birth naturally to a son who was still born. So I got the birth at last, but no baby to show for it. He was born in hospital because I was 28w, otherwise he would have been born at home.

My daughter is now 3.5 and I feel as healed as I think I will ever be from the experience. I read profusely for a couple years and actually got support from a couple of online groups that have a trauma focus too. I think what helped the most was the resolution to not put myself into a position where ...

Hello.

I'm Bronny. I have had 2 babies. My first, Josephine, was stillborn in December 2005. Hermione was born 19th of feb last year. (2 weeks to her birthday)

I had secondary Tokophobia (Fear of labour and birth) after Josephine, and my body refused to go into labour with Hermione resulting in a ceaser.

I'll post on this more another day. Right now it's 2.30 am I just felt I should say Hi before going to bed. lol

Hi my name is Jodi and I have a 25 month old daughter. What a great website. Although I didn't have a traumatic labour or birth, my c-section was medically required; I really admire your strength at the stuff ups caused by hospital regulations.

Hi Everyone,

I am another mother who has/is traveling the road of healing from birth trauma. I have 2 sons a 4yo and 22month old, my first son was born in a small private hospital and my second was a homebirth transfer. I will share his birth story shortly. I am so glad to see forums like this open up and I look forward to supporting it as it grows which sadly in an ideal world shouldn't have to be the case far too many families are starting their lives together following birth rape or suffering ...
